Holscher Campaign Statement on Last Minute Addition to Democratic Governor Primary
Topeka, KS – Following the news of another candidate, Curt Skoog, entering the Democratic primary for governor, Senator Cindy Holscher’s campaign released the following statement, attributed to campaign manager Madi Ashcraft:
“Cindy Holscher is the only candidate in this race on either side of the aisle who has a track record of taking on corporate interests and fighting for ordinary Kansans. She’s also the only Democrat in the race who has flipped red areas, and the only Democrat running who took on Sam Brownback and won. Cindy is building a grassroots campaign that excites voters and will defeat Ty Masterson in the fall. Kansans aren’t looking for another establishment guy in the race — they already have enough of those.”

Cindy Holscher was raised on a farm and brought up with common sense, Midwest values, and a love of her country. Cindy and her husband Greg have lived in Kansas for over 25 years, and their three kids graduated from public schools. She first ran for office to help end the disastrous Brownback experiment and to restore funding to the schools. As a legislator, Cindy co-founded the Women’s Bipartisan Caucus, and she focused on lowering costs for working class and middle class Kansans. Now, she’s running for Governor because Kansas deserves a leader who has a proven track record of fighting for all Kansans.
