KS-Gov: Dem Frontrunner Cindy Holscher Goes Up with First Ad – Says She’ll Have Working People’s Backs… and Oppose AI Data Centers
TOPEKA, KS —Today, Senator Cindy Holscher, the leading candidate in the Democratic primary for Governor of Kansas, is announcing her first television ad. The ad, titled “Have Our Backs,” acknowledges that too many people have felt sold out by both parties, and introduces Cindy as the candidate who will fight for working people.
The 30-second spot references Cindy’s humble roots being raised on a farm as well as her role in overturning the disastrous Brownback tax experiment. It also underscores her commitment to expanding Medicaid, lowering property taxes, and funding public schools.
Notably, the ad says Cindy will oppose tax giveaways to billionaires and AI data centers, as data centers have emerged as a major issue in the race.
“Our campaign is backed by real Kansans who are ready to fix the broken system, not out-of-state special interests and corporate donors who want to protect the status quo,” said Holscher’s campaign manager Madi Ashcraft. “Our ad will introduce Cindy to voters as the authentic fighter in the race who will stand up for working class people against the corporate interests that have ripped people off. She’s the only candidate in this race who has opposed AI Data Centers from taking over our communities. That’s why Cindy continues to lead in the polls despite her opponent’s fundraising advantage. Voters want someone who will fight for them, not billionaires and corporations.”
A recent independent poll among likely Democratic primary voters conducted by Change Research on behalf of Civic Clarity/Capitol Bee showed Holscher with a 27 point lead over her nearest competitor, Ethan Corson.
The ad, backed by a six-figure budget, will begin streaming immediately on Connected TV (CTV) and digital platforms, and will run on Kansas broadcast stations later this month.
