Sen. Cindy Holscher Condemns SNAP Benefits Pause That Will Leave Many Kansans Without Assistance
OVERLAND PARK, KS – On November 1st, nearly 188,000 Kansans that rely on SNAP benefits for their groceries will see their benefits paused due to the government shutdown in Washington and refusal of the administration to release the emergency funds intended to keep SNAP running.
Senator Cindy Holscher, candidate for Governor, issued the following statement:
“Making sure our families have the food they need is one of the most important issues, but politicians in DC are playing games that will leave too many Kansas kids unsure of where their next meal will come from,” said state senator Cindy Holscher. “Instead of keeping kids fed, partisan extremists are using SNAP to score political points. Kansas families deserve leaders focused on finding solutions to help people.”

Cindy Holscher was raised on a farm and brought up with common sense, Midwest values, and a love of her country. Cindy and her husband Greg have lived in Kansas for over 25 years, and their three kids graduated from public schools. She first ran for office to help end the disastrous Brownback experiment and to restore funding to the schools. As a legislator, Cindy co-founded the Women’s Bipartisan Caucus, and she focused on lowering costs for working class and middle class Kansans. Now, she’s running for Governor because Kansas deserves a leader who has a proven track record of fighting for all Kansans.
